Comedian Russell Brand and singer Katy Perry have ordered matching outfits in latex for their wedding and want them to be ready by September.

The couple asked Lady GaGa’s designer to design their skin-tight costumes, which will cost 3,000 pounds each.

“Russell and Katy have both got wicked sense of humours and are big fans of Lady Gaga,” the Sun quoted a friend of the couple as saying.

“They wanted unique outfits and no one dresses like her anywhere in the civilised world. The wedding will certainly be different.

“They have approached Kudo and she was delighted to take on the job,” the friend added.

Fetish-wear specialist Atsuko Kudo created the infamous red latex nun’s habit GaGa wore in the video for her hit single ‘Alejandro’.

Lady GaGa wears Atsuko Kudo Latex Nun Outfit for Alejandro Video

by Anita Tsia on Jun.22, 2010, under Fashion Show, Fashion Types, Materials, Women

Lady GaGa’s latest video for ‘Alejandro’ features more Atsuko Kudo latex. This time we were commissioned to make the red nun’s outfit pictured here.

It was a special commission from GaGa and stylist Nicola Formichetti. It’s difficult to see from the final edit but the ensemble also featured matching red or white stockings (we made two pairs – to be worn dependent on the nun’s mood!). The stockings were requested as they were to be shown but maybe they wanted to keep her looking chaste in these shots and hence never showed her legs. It also featured the remainder of the nun’s head dress which doesn’t seem to have been used either – a bit unfortunate as it was very nice – slightly built up to create extra drama! Because the shot was mainly Lady G lying down that’s probably why they didn’t use the head dress.

We’re very happy with how the red nun looks though as she’s lying there, we feel that she looks chaste and yet sexy at the same time which is surely intentional and that’s down to Lady Gaga as much as the outfit! Maybe her time being taught by nuns provided good experience for this role!

The lighting and filming by the legendary Steven Klein has really made the red latex appear a very beautiful blood red hue – very much the way we want to see red rubber!

All in all it was once again an absolute pleasure to create work for Lady GaGa and Nicola and her assistant Anna Trevalayan and we hope the video is as huge a success as all of the previous ones. (Pretty sure it will be!)

View the video on Lady Gaga’s official site here.

Dominion Style

Latex in a Box

Just a quick post as I was playing with a new photography prop and thought I’d share a smexy little latex outfit with ‘yall’ (as Eloise would say).

This is the June Latex ensemble in black from Nova, conveniently located at the Dominion Fetish Shoppes. The boots are one of my favourite pairs (and are guaranteed to get the boys all in a tizz) from Shi Sexy Fashion Shop. My hair is ‘Monica’ from Truth. And for any photographers out there, I’m posing in the ‘PolyWall’ from Diesel Works, which comes with some fantastic poses and textures.

Latex but not latex

by Anita Tsia on Jan.03, 2010, under Fashion Types

Latex fashion may get more mainstream, but the media is more often than not mistaking when giving the latex attribute to a garment. For the past year or so in publications such as newspapers, magazines or the internet, you often see a title blur out “X wears latex“, where X is replaced by the name of a hip celebrity. However, on closer investigation, it turns out that more than half the time… it’s not latex at all!  As soon as the garment in question (a legging, most of the time) has even a hint of shine on it, it automatically is labeled “latex”.

The question has to be asked: are these reporters misinformed, ignorant or just after a catchy headline? Because latex has appeared in the press more and more over the past few years, it’s become a hit word. The general line of thinking seems to point to: if you want to catch the eye of the reader, use “latex” in the title of your article. Does the catchy headline win the game for these authors? Not entirely. Latex fashion affectionates and fetishists have a tendency to rebuke such false claims, seeing these headlines as misleading.  Further more, they feel it contributes to mal-informing people about the nature of  latex clothing.

For most people (not active in the fetish scene) the word latex has a strong connotation with “kinky”. So these article headlines lead people to beleive that if the clothes look kinky (i.e. tight and shiny), it must be latex!  This is far from the truth.  In fact, most often than not we see all kinds of shiny materials other than latex appearing in these allegadly “latex articles”: leather, pleather, vinyl, PVC, spandex… So, if you see an article labeled “latex”, take a closer look just to be sure! One article even mistake a wetcuit for a latex catsuit (neoprene is a synthetic rubber). In the original article, the wetsuit that Paris Hilton is wearing on a diving break is labeled “latex”. Of course technically you could make a diving suit out of latex, I don’t see why not, but this certainly isn’t one of those! On the other hand, when Paris does wear latex (the real stuff) it’s not always picked up correctly. In this article of Paris hosting the opening of the Pussycat Dolls lounge in LA, the dress is mistakenly identified as leather… (more on this opening event in our previous page).  This just goes to show most journalists don’t really pay attention (or don’t care?) to the origin of the clothes these celebrities are wearing.  Then why do they insist on labeling the clothes? The pictures below all came from articles where the clothes were wrongly labeled ‘latex’.

A sexy cat burglar dressed in a tight black lycra catsuit and with a lot of high heeled shoes – what sounds like a male fantasy actually comes from one: The fantasy of shoe designer Christian Louboutin, who created the newest  Barbie collectable doll available from net-a-porter. And as you might expect from Louboutin this Barbie comes with a number of different shoes including boxes.

Catsuit

by Anita Tsia on May.14, 2009, under Fashion Types

catsuit

catsuit

A catsuit is a skin-tight one-piece usually stretch garment with long sleeves and legs. Catsuits can be used by both genders, and despite the name they do not in general have feline characteristics. Catsuits can be made from a variety of usually stretch fabrics or materials. These include Lycia, spandex, leather, latex, PVC, or velour.

Some people consider them to be a fetish item. Catsuits for fetish use are often made of latex or PVC. Feet, if present, might be like socks, which are the most common case, or they might be some sort of integrated boot, sometimes high heeled. Instead of gloves there also might be bondage mittens, which might have a D-ring at the top, and some of such catsuits can be used as straitjackets in the context of bondage. Some catsuits have incorporated monoglove instead of sleeves and they can also be used for bondage. Catsuits may also have incorporated corset and/or neck corset.

Catsuit looks nature and fluent, especially sexy for girls. And if using the material of latex, the catsuit will more comfortable.
